Job Description

MIKA is seeking experienced and polished Host/Hostess to provide world-class service in a refined and sophisticated dining environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, and the ability to deliver exceptional guest experiences. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work seamlessly as part of a team in a high-end restaurant setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional service to guests in accordance with fine dining standards.
• Handle guest concerns and special requests with grace and professionalism.

• Greets all guests with enthusiasm and friendliness, escort them to tables or appropriate waiting areas, provide menus and communicate the guest arrival to the server. 
• Record table status accordingly based on seating and server assignment charts.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills including telephone etiquette.
• Communicate special guest needs to servers and supervisors and record them on the guest profile.  
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of offerings to communicate with guests and prepare them for their dining experience. 
• Help with reservations over the phone or at the restaurant, working as their agents and on their side, with requested dates and times for their reservations. 

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.   
• Previous experience as a host/hostess in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment.
• Strong multitasking abilities, with the capacity to remain calm and composed under pressure.
• Ability to work efficiently in a team and contribute to a harmonious service environment.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods of time.
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain all required licenses, certificates, or permits.  
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

Working Conditions:

• Must have open availability and the ability to regularly report to work on time including on nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant.
• Ability to work long days when required by business demands.
• Ability to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
