Job Description

PRODUCT BRAND MANAGER

Made by Gather, a B2B portfolio of small kitchen appliance brands, is looking for a Product Brand Manager to join the Product Branding team. Reporting to the Director of Brand Product Management, you are an experienced consumer centric product strategist who has knowledge of the small kitchen appliance market. You are curious about the world of kitchenware and have experience identifying product white space, brand positioning and compelling consumer centric messaging strategies to bring product to market successfully.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

CONSUMER & MARKET INSIGHTS

  • Keeping the brand/s market position in mind, identify consumer and sales trends for opportunities to expand assortments into new innovative white space.
  • Utilize consumer insights to aid in crafting strategy such as new product development ideas and/or product positioning in the marketplace.

STRATEGY

  • Support Director & VP in conducting regular analysis of brand(s), category, and total market segment performance; building on brand's point of view and identifying and capitalizing on product and growth opportunities.
  • Be a part of Seasonal Strategy meetings aiding the Director with gathering information for presenting hindsight, insights, and opportunities for seasonal innovations for the brands.
  • Deliver against companywide GTM calendar milestones; execute against owned deliverables and liaise with cross functional teams responsible to deliver against key development milestones.

PRODUCT CONCEPT

  • Partner with Director and Product, Engineering on new product development initiatives and brief these teams and Marketing to kick off concepting.
  • Translate consumer and customer (retailer) objectives into compelling product marketing campaigns, working closely with your branding and commercial marketing counterparts to bring them to life.
  • Work with Marketing Brand leads to assure consistency of messaging across packaging, in-store signage/POPs, e-comm, and other marketing assets: this includes various asset review, conducting periodic audits of packaging in context, and PDP review to ensure features and benefits show up consistently and on-brand – from Amazon overlays to packaging in major retailers nationwide.
  • Collaborate with creative team and copywriter to create and/or review briefs to ensure alignment with product marketing and messaging strategy.

COLLABORATION

  • Collaborate closely with the customer care team to gather and analyze consumer insights, product feedback, and data from the customers, translating the analysis into specific action plans that align with business goals.
  • Act as ambassador of our customer, by interfacing regularly with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Product Development partners to develop and refine balanced, brand right assortments in line with retail pricing and grow/maintain/decline strategies.

  • Manage relationships and communicate project information to all stakeholders at a level appropriate to their needs and proactively keep team members on deadlines in an effective but collaborative way.

MENTORING

  • Lead and mentor the Product Coordinator to be brand centric and growth minded

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4+ of experience working within the consumer goods industry, preferably small kitchen appliances or other consumer electrics; multi-brand portfolio experience a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, product development or related field.
  • Proven track record of building and fostering strong relationships with internal and external teams to optimize growth.
  • Willing to travel domestically/internationally 30% of the time.
  • Ability to juggle many priorities while at the same time maintaining excellent attention to detail and a positive, collaborative attitude.
  • A track record of delivering projects on time.
  • Highly adaptable, with a capacity to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized and self-disciplined with a strong ability to prioritize tasks and resources.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
