The Construction Manager will oversee field operations for commercial solar projects throughout Northern California, ensuring they are executed safely, efficiently, and within scope. This role requires a skilled leader with an electrical background and a deep understanding of construction management, crew coordination, and problem-solving. The Construction Manager will work closely with on-site crews and project teams to drive project success, maintain quality standards, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary field operations contact, managing crews, and subcontractors throughout project execution.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and daily reports to ensure compliance with job-specific requirements.
  • Coordinate crew assignments and equipment scheduling to optimize resource utilization and maintain project timelines.
  • Address and document conflicts, RFIs, change orders, and claims in collaboration with the project team.
  • Oversee material procurement, inspections, and equipment use to support efficient project execution.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, fostering a culture of safety and compliance on-site.
  • Act as a liaison with clients, owners, and stakeholders to provide updates and address project concerns.
  • Track and manage daily production, equipment usage, and project costs to maintain budget alignment.
  • Assist in preparing as-built documentation and administrative reports, including safety logs and daily site reports.
  • Manage multiple projects and crews simultaneously while maintaining high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • Electrician Preferred but not required
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within utility or commercial solar construction.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills in high-pressure environments.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and project management tools.
  • Relevant safety certifications (OSHA 10, OSHA 30, Trench Safety, Confined Space, CPR) or willingness to obtain them within six months.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage teams and coordinate with stakeholders.

Salary Range: $80k-120k
