Labor Union Organizer

Based out of the South St. Paul, MN office

This position is an OPEIU 12 Union position based out of the South St. Paul Office

Classification: Organizer

UFCW 1189 in South Saint Paul is hiring a permanent, full-time Labor Union Organizer .

Duties Include:

• Grow the Local Union’s membership through new organizing
• Help organize existing members during contract campaigns
• Oversee member volunteers on special projects
• Assisting the Local Union with communication to members and stewards
• Assisting in the investigation of grievances
• Other duties as assigned by the Local’s President

Qualifications:

• At least one year experience as a Union or Community Organizer
• Knowledge of the NLRB election process
• Competency in basic office software (Microsoft, G Suite)
• Genuine interest in other people

Benefits, Requirements, and Additional Details:

• Salaried Position
• 48 hours per week
• Organizers are expected to be available nights, weekends, and for occasional travel
• Full benefits (health, vision, dental, retirement benefits)
• This position is covered by OPEIU Local 12 Contract
• Pay within scale based on experience
• Must have American vehicle
