Job Description

Job Title: Wedding & Events Coordinator

Location: On-site in Salem, MA, with some remote work flexibility

Employment Type: Full-Time (Evenings & Weekends Required)

Position Overview:

The Satanic Temple (TST) is seeking a visionary and experienced Wedding & Events Coordinator to establish, grow, and manage a unique wedding program at our headquarters in Salem, MA. This is an extraordinary opportunity for a creative, self-driven professional to shape a brand-new offering that aligns with the philosophy and principles of TST.

This role is primarily focused on small weddings and ceremonies but will also explore opportunities to utilize our intimate venue for other events and space rentals. The coordinator will be responsible for developing every aspect of TST’s wedding program — from conceptualizing service offerings and managing pricing to creating promotional materials and coordinating with clients to create unforgettable events.

You will work closely with the Salem Art Gallery staff, TST Ministers, and other stakeholders to craft meaningful, personalized wedding experiences that reflect the values of The Satanic Temple.

This is a role requiring on-site work in Salem, MA, as needed, for consultations and event management. Some work can be completed remotely when not required on-site. On-site work may decrease over time as workflows are established, but candidates must have the flexibility to be present when required.

If you have strong business acumen, a passion for boutique wedding and event planning, thrive in dynamic, creative environments, and have a deep understanding of The Satanic Temple’s values, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Wedding Program Development : Develop The Satanic Temple’s wedding program from the ground up by defining comprehensive service packages, establishing streamlined processes, and determining competitive pricing structures for services.
  • Client Services : Guide clients through the wedding planning journey, from initial inquiry to event execution. This includes providing consultations, coordinating venue tours, and managing the planning process with sensitivity and attention to detail.
  • Marketing & Business Development : In collaboration with our communications team, create marketing strategies to promote our wedding/event services. This includes advertising, social media campaigns, and outreach efforts to attract potential clients.
  • Event Coordination : Oversee event logistics, manage timelines, and ensure smooth day-of execution for weddings and other venue-based events.
  • Budget Management : Develop, oversee, and maintain budgets for individual weddings and events, as well as the broader wedding and events program.
  • Vendor Management : Identify and coordinate with external vendors as needed (caterers, florists, photographers, etc.) or assist clients in doing so.
  • Team Management: Assemble, train, and manage temporary event teams to assist with event setup, execution, and cleanup, as needed.
  • Event Rentals : Identify opportunities to host on-site events beyond weddings, maximizing the use of the venue as an event rental space.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with TST's Salem Art Gallery staff and TST Ministers to support rituals, ceremonies, and other custom event elements.

Qualifications:

  • Event & Wedding Planning Experience : Proven experience in planning weddings, events, or venue coordination.
  • Visionary Mindset : Ability to create a wedding/event program from the ground up.
  • Sales & Marketing Skills : Experience promoting and advertising wedding/event services.
  • Client-Focused : Strong interpersonal skills to provide a personalized client experience.
  • Knowledge of The Satanic Temple’s Values or openness to learn : Familiarity with TST’s beliefs, principles, and community is a plus but not a requirement.
  • Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with event planning software, CRM tools, and basic marketing platforms (like Canva or Google Suite) is a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • On-Site Requirement : This role requires on-site work in Salem, MA , particularly during events, consultations, and venue tours. Flexibility for remote work may increase as systems are established.
  • Schedule : Full-time role with much of the work occurring on weekends and evenings as weddings and events often occur outside of a standard 9-5 schedule.
  • Physical Demands
  • Lifting: Frequent lifting, carrying, and arranging of furniture and event materials, including chairs and tables.
  • Stairs: Multiple flights of stairs must be navigated on a daily basis.
  • Physical Activity: This role requires prolonged standing, walking, and hands-on event support.

Compensation

  • Base Salary : $60,000-70,000 annually.
  • Revenue-Based Bonus Plan : Opportunity to earn additional compensation tied to the success and growth of TST’s wedding and events program.

How to Apply: Send your resume, a brief cover letter explaining why you're the perfect fit for this role, and your professional portfolio, including photos of your work, to [email protected]. Your portfolio can showcase past event work or your creative vision for TST weddings.
