Surface Designer - Onsite

Job Overview:

GM Performance Power Units LLC is seeking a highly experienced Senior Surface Designer to join our growing team in Concord, NC. This critical role focuses on creating advanced surface models for key engine components, supporting simulation efforts that drive performance improvements for our Formula 1 power units.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create surface models for critical components such as:
• Intake and exhaust ports
• Combustion chambers
• Turbocharger volutes
• Utilize parametric and NURBS techniques for surface modeling.
• Collaborate with design engineering and simulation teams to deliver high-quality models.
• Work independently to complete complex design tasks with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years' experience in surface design (8-10 preferred)
• Technical Skills : Extensive experience in surface modeling using parametric and NURBS techniques.
• Proficiency in NX and/or CATIA software.
• Experience Level : Senior-level expertise with a proven ability to deliver results independently.

Performance Expectations:

• Deliver high-quality surface models and iterations for combustion chambers, intake ports, and exhaust ports within the first six months.
• Contribute to performance improvement initiatives through innovative design solutions.
