Job Description

A rig administrator is responsible for managing administrative tasks on an offshore drilling rig, including maintaining crew lists, coordinating crew changes, managing radio communications, handling helicopter operations, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, all under the direction of the Offshore Installation Manager (OIM).

Key responsibilities of a rig administrator:

• Crew management:
• Maintaining accurate "Person on Board" (POB) lists and updating them with crew movements
• Coordinating crew changes, including travel arrangements and accommodation
• Tracking employee time sheets and payroll related activities
• Communication management:
• Operating and maintaining the rig's communication systems, including radio and satellite phones
• Managing radio traffic and ensuring compliance with communication protocols
• Coordinating helicopter operations, including passenger manifests and weather updates
• Administrative tasks:
• Preparing reports and documentation for regulatory bodies
• Maintaining logs for radio communication, helicopter activities, and other relevant operations
• Handling office duties like filing, data entry, and correspondence
• Safety and compliance:
• Enforcing safety procedures and participating in safety meetings
• Ensuring adherence to environmental regulations
• Maintaining emergency preparedness documentation

Skills and qualifications for a rig administrator:

• Strong administrative skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proficiency in radio operation and communication protocols
• Knowledge of offshore drilling operations and safety procedures
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Familiarity with relevant software and databases
