PEMEX Deer Park is a highly complex refinery located 18 miles east of Houston in Deer Park, TX, and is a part of the PEMEX group which is a fully integrated oil company in the Americas, working across the entire value chain: exploration, production, industrial processing/refining, logistics and marketing. Job Summary-
The objective of the Area Field Coordinator (AFC) role is to ensure that routine maintenance work scopes are safety, effectively, and efficiently executed by Pemex and Contractor crafts. This includes behaviors, culture, craft competency, craft qualification, schedule attainment, and the effective use and management of resources. The AFC is accountable for work scope delivery of Pemex and Contractor crafts.
Dimensions:
The Refinery LOUT Maintenance Area field Coordinator role has 10 direct reports consisting of Machinist, Electricians, and Pipefitters. The role is also responsible for +- 60 indirect contractor reports. Leadership, adaptability, communication, and stakeholder engagement are critical skills for this position.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Lead well planned and prepared safety engagements daily to Pemex crafts and foster engagement from the crafts
- Ensure crafts both Pemex and contractor are competent and qualified to complete the work assigned safely
- Distribute work to maximize the ability for team to work effectively while delivering quality work, using both the available Pemex and Contractor base resources
- Provide schedule updates daily and review schedules to ensure workable scopes and plans are scheduled to ensure efficient delivery
- Provide Field assurance daily to deliver schedule attainment
- Manage daily issues proactively and reactively that impact the ability of the crafts to complete work
- Manage contractor track approvals in a timely manner
- Manage schedule pro time entries daily
- For overtime work, ensure a clear understanding by crafts who will be executing the work and MSC or Weekend Duty Person. If necessary for successful delivery provide onsite leadership of the overtime work.
Key Responsibilities
- Set clear expectations and effectively provide feedback to Pemex employees on performance both safety, behaviors and craftsmanship that deserves recognition or requires attention
- Have a clear understanding of the Craft Expectation document and ensure team is compliant to those requirements
- Have a clear understanding of Union Contract requirements and Craft related Pemex Deer Park Maintenance Policies, including but not limited to the Maintenance Overtime Policy and Craft Vacation Policy.
- Utilize the Employee Discussion Log (EDL) to capture employee overall performance
- Know status of employees attendance performance including emergency vacations, late arrivals, and other unplanned absences
- Ensure Pemex crafts have the proper training to safely perform work and are compliant with SOU required training for their craft & job
- Ensure Pemex crafts are compliant with the HSSE Framework Assessments and CD&A Assessment, create gap closure plans, and close skill/knowledge gaps
- Evaluate skills gaps and develop training to improve overall craft competencies and qualifications including training in advancing technology and tools
- Complete front-line leader training and continue to develop in leadership skills
Key Qualifications:

Experience Requirements:
- 10+ years experience of Maintenance execution in a Refinery, Chemical plant or similar asset.
- Prior supervision of industrial represented workforce.
