Position: Psychologist - LPA/LP 

Job Description: 

Solutions of Hickory, PA has an opening for a clinical psychologist - licensed or eligible for licensure in NC as an LP or LPA. This position is ideal for a psychologist interested in a combination testing and counseling practice. Seeking a professional with training, experience, and an interest in administration, scoring, and interpretation of psychological testing as well as counseling and therapeutic interventions for children and families . Consistent referrals include a mixture of assessment and counseling clients. Additionally, experience including prior work with a mixture of children, adolescents, and adults is preferred. We are able to offer schedule flexibility with a mix of in-office and work-from-home (report-writing) hours. The office is open and staffed Monday through Friday, mornings, afternoons, and evenings as well as Saturday mornings, allowing for employee flexibility in scheduling in-office hours. We are currently on a waiting list of several months, allowing for a rapid development of a full caseload.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in psychology required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience is desired, but will provide training to an exceptional candidate
  • Licensed to practice in the state of NC or eligible to apply for licensure
  • Competence with in-person assessment, interpretation, and report writing
  • Competency with writing efficient and effective psychological evaluation reports
  • Well-developed time-management skills and ability to meet report writing deadlines
  • Experience with evidence-based therapeutic interventions with children, teens, parents, and families is preferred, but willing to provide training to exceptional candidates
  • Warm, engaging, friendly personality to support rapport development and put assessment and counseling clients at ease
  • Experience coding testing services in electronic health records preferred but not required
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Exceptional professionalism, integrity, and commitment to ethical practice
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Board-required clinical supervision available as an employment benefit for LPA candidates

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and evaluations for clients referred for a variety of presenting concerns including

- Children:  ADHD, LD, Dyslexia, Autism, Differential dx of mood/anxiety disorders

- Adults : ADHD, Autism, Differential diagnosis, pre-surgical, pre-employment

  • Provide counseling, utilizing evidence-based techniques such as CBT, DBT, CPT, Solution-focused, play therapy, etc
  • Maintain accurate and timely submission of medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with peers in a supportive clinical environment supporting children, couples, parents, and families
  • Engage in crisis intervention and develop treatment plans tailored to individual needs
  • Participate in telehealth sessions as requested by clients to expand access to care
  • Utilize excellent communication skills to coordinate with teachers, physicians, and other professionals in a well-established practice environment regarding co-ordination of client care

  • Full administrative support during open office hours: provider credentialing and enrollment with multiple insurance carriers, referral management, billing, claims-filing, follow-up on claims issues, scheduling, communication (phone and email) with clients, fee collection.
  • Admin send and follow up with electronic rating scales, scheduling/interface with school personnel for classroom observations, etc.
  • Compliance with insurance requirements, HIPAA requirements, audit support if/as needed
  • All necessary insurance premiums: professional liability, business/office, Worker's Compensation
  • Employee Medical Insurance benefit through group BCBS policy for FT staff
  • QGlobal scoring system and all psychological tests and protocols, annual scoring subscriptions
  • Consistent referral base developed over 25 years practice in the area with marketing support as needed, Psychology Today profile if desired, website representation, Google Business page, socials
  • Assistance with referring clients out to necessary services upon completion of testing (psychiatry, OT, PT, Speech, alternate counseling - family/couples)
  • Supervision for LPA's
  • Group supervision and case consultation for/with all FT clinicians on staff
  • FT staff enjoy reimbursement for licensure renewal as well as select CE fees
  • Kitchen area stocked with snacks, drinks. coffee/tea bar for clients and staff

Solutions of Hickory, PA was founded in July, 2000, and will soon be celebrating 25 years of serving the Hickory community and surrounding areas. We enjoy a strong referral base of physicians, local schools, and other professionals. Our location is a former historic home converted to a quaint comfortable setting for multiple therapy office suites, waiting area, business office, and staff kitchen. We have eight clinicians, including three psychologists, five counselors, and a licensed clinical social worker. Hickory is convenient to Charlotte, Lake Norman, Asheville, Boone, and a four hour drive to the beach. Hickory has invested in a significant re-vitalization of our downtown area, creating spaces for social connection, and lots of opportunities for families and children including a science/art/theater complex, a riverwalk, and a full cultural and social calendar of events. Job Type: W-2 Employee, Full-time but will consider a strong PT candidate

Wages: Commission model, with monthly income dependent upon hours billed. Practice insurance panels limited to non-managed care entities to limit billing paperwork and protect clinician reimbursement. Salary below typical for FT hours for clinical psychologist.
