State Water Project Aerial Tour 2021 -

This position is physically located at the California Natural Resources Building in Downtown Sacramento.

Duties: Under the direction of the Manager, Dam Safety Services, the incumbent is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities of the Maintenance Management & Standards Section which involves implementation of processes, procedures, and standards applicable to the Dam Safety Program and maintenance of State Water Project (SWP) dams.

This position requires that the incumbent work independently on projects, work cooperatively with others including involvement in a matrix management environment; maintain regular, consistent, predictable attendance; exercise good judgment; promote, enhance and maintain safety in workplace.  Pro-active coordination and frequent communication with other Dam Safety Services and Field Division staff is critical for successful execution of job duties.  It is desirable for the incumbent to have knowledge and experience in developing procedures, standards, and processes; contract management; civil engineering design; Division of Safety of Dams, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission; inspections; project management; maintenance engineering of civil infrastructure; and Dam Safety.

This position is office-centered which means the incumbent works fifty percent or less of their time monthly from an alternate work location, which can change at any time.  The Department of Water Resources is located in the California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA) building, which is one of the newest and innovative buildings in Sacramento.  It is located right next to Light Rail for an easy commute – we even have a reimbursement subsidy program for public transit!  Click here to read about the array of amenities CNRA has to offer.
