Are you an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant or Legal Secretary looking for an opportunity to grow in a dynamic and supportive environment? We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to join our legal team in Torrance, CA. This hybrid role offers the chance to work both remotely and in-office while supporting attorneys and paralegals in managing legal documents, deadlines, and case files.
Key Responsibilities
As a Legal Administrative Assistant/Legal Secretary, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of legal processes. Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing and proofreading legal documents and correspondence.
Filing legal documents in state and federal courts.
Creating and maintaining document charts with hyperlinks.
Preparing binders for attorneys and judges.
Organizing and saving documents and emails using a document management system.
Managing legal due dates and calendaring in CompuLaw.
Scheduling meetings, maintaining attorneys' calendars, and handling other administrative tasks.
Arranging travel and processing expense reports.
Processing monthly client disbursements.
Organizing and maintaining case files.
Providing support to multiple attorneys and legal staff.
Assisting with general administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced legal environment. To be successful in this role, you should have:
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook, Teams, and legal software such as CompuLaw.
A strong understanding of court rules and procedures, with the ability to retrieve legal documents from online court directories.
The ability to work overtime when needed.
Heavy computer usage skills.
The ability to lift at least 30 lbs. (files and boxes).
Education & Experience
Minimum of 5+ years of legal experience required.
Civil litigation experience required.
Demonstrated stability in previous employment roles.
