Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Engineer to join our growing team. The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring that production standards are met while maintaining a focus on safety and quality. This role involves collaboration with various departments to drive continuous improvement and enhance productivity through data-driven decision-making and innovative engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and improve processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality in the aluminum can production line.
  • Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement. Use statistical tools and techniques to propose actionable solutions.
  • Implement and support lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping to enhance operational performance.
  • Assist in capacity analysis and planning to ensure that production targets are met while minimizing downtime and maximizing resource utilization.
  • Assess machine efficiency and recommend improvements to reduce cycle times.
  • Work with maintenance and production teams to assess the layout of machinery and equipment to maximize flow and minimize downtime.
  • Lead investigations into production issues and quality deviations, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure that all engineering solutions are in compliance with safety standards, regulations, and company policies. Promote a culture of safety within the manufacturing environment.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities in materials, labor, and overheads through improved processes and resource utilization.
  • Work closely with production, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to achieve production goals and ensure seamless operations.
  • Lead and support projects related to equipment upgrades, new technology implementation, and plant layout modifications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in an industrial/mechanical engineering role, preferably within the manufacturing sector (experience in aluminum can production is a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement methodologies, and statistical analysis tools.
  • Proficient in CAD software, simulation tools, and other engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Studio 5000, RS Logic, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex production issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory requirements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment with a focus on meeting production deadlines.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

Employees are required to wear PPE including but not limited to appropriate safety glasses, hearing protection, clothing, and footwear in appropriate areas and follow safety practices.
