What you will be doing:

Are you ready to make a big difference in public health? Join the section of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (CDPHP) team supporting the data collection and organization of the Violent Death Reporting System (AKVDRS) and the State Unintentional Drug Overdose Reporting System (SUDORS); in this role, you will:

  • Work cooperatively with municipal, state, and federal (core) partners to maintain access to electronic data and other `hard copy` information pertaining to violent injury, death, and victim-related information from proprietary databases and other data sources (such as law enforcement reports, forensic and toxicology reports, etc.) as identified in the AKVDRS/SUDORS project objectives. 
  • Use multiple data sources to summarize information into a brief written narrative describing key circumstances of fatal incidents.
  • Identify and evaluate limitations, inconsistencies, or absences of data and other information to the AKVDRS/SUDORS Program Coordinator and Injury Epidemiologists.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for injury program activities, such as organizing events, managing project timelines, and preparing reports.

Review, edit, and develop new materials for the AKVDRS and SUDORS (abstraction forms, quarterly reports, data factsheets, etc.).
