GENERAL JOB DUTIES:
The Field E&D Superintendent oversees erection, climbing and dismantling activities in the district with regards to scheduling, dispatching of erection/dismantling crew as required, and jobsite meetings. Additionally, provides guidance to erection crew, mobile crane supplier, shipping company, other professionals, and internal/external customers related to tower crane and personnel/material hoist applications.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Attendance of customer meetings when necessary to plan for equipment erection, climbs, and dismantles.
- Understanding of and the ability to identify jobsite condition and hazards that affect erecting, climbing and dismantling activities such as: ground conditions, powerline clearances, weather conditions and other equipment activities.
- Understand and assist in the preparation of JSA’s, lift plans for each specific job as needed.
- Understanding and the ability to conduct dismantlement, pre-erection and post erection equipment inspections.
- Oversee and conduct re-torquing activities.
- Provide assistance and schedule crew for crane and hoist repair activities when necessary.
- Supervise and assist with proper loading of equipment on trucks for transporting equipment from jobsites.
- Ensure the maintenance, inspection and preventative maintenance is performed on all tools, rigging and PPE.
- Ensure all lifting equipment is inspected and maintained in a good working order and available for use.
- Assist in managing crane and hoist operators on turnkey equipment.
- May be required assist as a relief equipment operator when needed.
- Provide supervision and ensure manufacturer’s instructions and company policies are followed during erection, climbing, dismantling activities of cranes and personnel/material hoists in district region and other locations as required.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including manufacturer’s published instructions, parts and equipment specifications, catalogs, manuals, etc.
- Knowledge of hoist and crane types, their components and proper installation.
- Ability to determine weights of components, center of gravity and pick points.
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, customers, and vendors in a professional business environment, demonstrating a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
- Ability to work in a collaborative manner with all personnel to ensure tasks are completed timely.
- Required to have excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and adjust priorities as necessary in order to meet deadlines.

- Training of employees under their supervision in current policies, procedures and programs based on their duties and responsibilities.
- Following of all Company safety rules, policies, and procedures at all times, including proper usage of Company-supplied PPE as required, including hard hats, safety glasses, body harnesses, arc flash, etc.
- Ability to represent the Company in a professional manner, which includes wearing of Company supplied MEC Branded shirts or FR uniforms, and proper maintenance of Company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Understanding and compliance with Company policies, OSHA, Applicable ASME B30 &P30 safety standards, State and local specific safety regulations, and site-specific safety plans as they apply to crane and hoist erection, dismantle, climbing, maintenance and repair.
- Notifies District Service Manager, Corporate Safety Director, or Corporate Service Manager of unsafe conditions and/or practices.
- Enforcing safety regulations, standards, and Company policies.
- Responsible for timely completion and submission of required paperwork and reports. Coaching and resolution of conflicts in a positive manner.
- Recommendation and/or the initiation of personnel actions, such as disciplinary measures.
- Investigating and resolving employee issues with the assistance of HR.
- Motivate employees to achieve work goals.
- Safeguard tools and equipment belonging to the Company.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to work at heights as required
- Ability and willingness to work extra hours, including overtime and on-call availability, according to business needs.
- Performance of other duties as assigned by District Service Manager
Requirements
TECHNICAL SKILLS/LICENSES REQUIRED:
- Requirement to maintain Tower Crane Operator, Rigging and Signal Person certification (such as NCCCO or equivalent acceptable to Morrow)
- Complete OSHA 30 training
- Maintain a current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Maintain a valid State driver’s license and be insurable by the company’s carrier.
In addition to the requirements above, you;
- May be required to have a Forklift operator’s license.
