Director of Compliance & Regulatory Affairs This position is on-site in Plano, TX
**Not Remote or Hybrid** What You Must Have: - Current State Registered Nurse License
- Registered Nurse with a minimum of five (5) years hospice clinical and/or administration management experience; Home Care Home Base EMR experience recommended.
- Certified in Health Care Compliance (CHC) preferred.
- Expert knowledge of hospice clinical and financial operations
- Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of hospice care delivery and regulations, including Fraud and Abuse and Anti-Kickback.
- Demonstrated track record of managing and developing successful corporate compliance strategies, improving compliance outcomes, and implementing successful continuous performance improvement initiatives in a multi-site environment.
- Experience in changing organizational processes to implement standard methods and practices.
- Must have an outstanding interpersonal, communication and presentation skills along with a strong executive presence.
- Possess good organization, people and problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task many projects and strategies simultaneously.
- Good working knowledge of Local Coverage Determinants for Hospice (multiple states), the Medicare Conditions of Participation (CoPs), and the Community Health Accreditation Partners (CHAP)
- Working knowledge of Homecare Homebase EMR preferred
- Current Drivers License, reliable transportation, and provide ongoing valid and current auto liability insurance

What You Will Do - Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the organization.
- Develops, initiates, maintains and revises policies and procedures for the general operation of the compliance program and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical or improper conduct.
- Develops, coordinates and participates in educational program for all employees to ensure they have knowledge of, and comply with, pertinent federal and state standards as well as all Agency policies and procedures.
- Participates in Medical Review activities, assisting with External Audits, as needed.
- Monitors the performance of the compliance program and related activities on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness.
- Participates in the design and implementation of a risk-based annual compliance work plan incorporating governmental and other agency regulations and industry alerts, compliance program requirements, and policies and procedures.
- Participates in investigations related to compliance helpline calls, inquiries made to the Compliance Department, State reports and professional board reporting, at the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer.
- When requested, prepare comprehensive reports, making recommendations to correct deficiencies and improve processes.
- Participate in developing site POC’s and QAPI.
- Oversee organizational efforts in complying with local, state and federal regulations, CHAPs standards, clinical practice standards as well as corporate compliance and policy standards.
- Act as Compliance liaison and advise IT and HCHB will updates and development.
- Collaborates with the Clinical and Operational Teams on projects and joint efforts as applicable.
- Oversees the Internal Audit Team members and Compliance and Education Manager’s performance.
- Support sales and growth of the organization.
- Create a positive service excellence culture within region by setting expectations and accountability through effective clinical leadership.
- Ensure overall compliance with local, state and federal laws, Medicare regulations, and established personnel policies and procedures.
- Follows all Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA, and Private Insurance regulations and requirements.
- Performance of other duties as required.
