Job Description

Pay Rate: $25/hr-$26/hr

Duration: Long Term Temp with high possibility of extension.

Position Summary

The Development Specialist will support the Foundation’s fundraising, donor engagement, and programmatic activities to advance our mission. The ideal candidate will assist in planning and implementing strategies to cultivate donor relationships, support fundraising, educational, and awareness events, and manage donor communications and database systems. This position is an integral part of the Development and Program teams and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by gynecologic cancers.

Responsibilities

DONOR MANAGEMENT AND SUPPORT

  • Enter all donations in the Foundation’s donor database, code and track appropriately, and update donor records as needed.
  • Manage acknowledgement letter process including personalization and providing receipts for all gifts and in-kind donations. Develop standard responses and automation where possible.
  • Coordinate mailings/appeals to donors, patrons, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage gift acknowledgements, in-kind donation requests, update donor records as needed.
  • Support families or friends in setting up Tribute and Memorial pages in honor of loved ones, including site design, gift tracking, and reporting to families.
  • Serve as primary point person for the Main Phone and info emails providing customer service to donors as needed.
  • Help design and implement donor engagement initiatives to recognize and retain supporters.
  • Assist in conducting donor and prospect research.

DATA MANAGEMENT, TECHNOLOGY, METRICS AND REPORTING

  • Create queries and develop standard reports for campaign and other metrics. Provide reports to leadership regularly to monitor progress against goals.
  • Support third party and peer-to-peer fundraising events as required, assist in setting up their donation pages, track event donations, and create event performance reports.
  • Support Foundation technology solutions as required for mobile giving, peer-to-peer giving, event platforms, etc.
  • Work with Operations Team to ensure the integrity of new data as well as historical data converted from legacy system. Conduct research and clean up data where needed.
  • Develop and share financial reports and queries from the database. Work with Finance, staff, and Operations staff to assist with tracking and reconciliation as needed.

EVENT SUPPORT

  • Support the Chief Development Officer, Program Director, and Senior Manager in planning and execution of donor outreach, patient education, and advocate events at Move4Her Signature Events, and others.
  • Staff events, tables, and sessions as needed at Move4Her Signature Events, and #MoveTheMessage awareness events.

PROGRAM AND DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT

  • Manage and expand matching gift programs, as well as directed/targeted research for external fundraising and partner opportunities.
  • Support of Industry Partner and Corporate Sponsor events including website development, design, maintenance, and registration tracking.
  • Assist in completing industry grant applications and outcome metrics through their portals as required.
  • Assist in assembling Letters of Intent and proposals for major donors.
  • Assist with online and giving day campaigns.
  • Complete various correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Participate in committee calls, take notes and conduct follow-up. Calls are occasionally after regular hours.
  • Serve as point person for packing, labeling, and shipping education and awareness materials and promotional items from office storage area to Move4Her and #MoveTheMessage events.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years' work experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Practical experience in administrative support; nonprofit experience a plus.
  • Excellent computer skills; extremely proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Experience with CRM database management; Virtuous knowledge a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication. Strong customer service orientation, with proven relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects, often with deadline pressures.
  • Team player with high level of initiative, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Superb attention to detail and accuracy.

Physical Demands and Work Environment The majority of work is conducted in a remote office environment. The nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment. Requires ability to communicate verbally and in writing in an exchange of information; collect, compile, and prepare work documents; set-up and maintain work files. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds. Occasional day and overnight travel by air and/or automobile may be required. Use of the computer, with repetitive motion, is approximately 80%. [Potential travel is approximately 2-10 days per year].
