We are looking for an experienced Design Director to join our growing team. In this role, you will manage and mentor a small team of designers, leading projects throughout the creative process from kickoff to production. You’ll design and present creative work to clients, collaborating across strategy, accounts, production, interactive, and management teams. You’ll be part of a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment where your creative leadership will deliver meaningful impact for our clients and the agency.

Key Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach designers, fostering their professional development
• Collaborate with creative, strategy, and account teams to develop impactful creative solutions
• Master the fundamentals of Moxie Sozo's design process by leading projects from kickoff to completion, including internal reviews, client presentations, and preparation of final files
• Review project timelines, prioritize tasks, and ensure on-time deliverables 
• Understand and articulate brand strategy to both clients and the design team
• Develop design territories and execute creative deliverables independently with very little oversight
• Review and provide constructive feedback on others' work
• Craft original presentations and pitch decks 
• Adapt to an array of visual styles and seek new inspiration by monitoring competitive and market trends
• Maintain brand standards throughout client relationships
• Demonstrate self-motivation, prioritizing time and managing multiple projects with minimal supervision
• Apply critical thinking and problem solving skills to meet high standards and tight deadlines
• Take personal initiative for technical and professional development, staying up to date on design trends and best practices
• Maintain strong attention to detail in all aspects of work

Experience and Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing design across identity, packaging, and marketing materials
• Mastery of creative tools including Adobe Creative Cloud
• Experience managing and mentoring small teams
• Illustration and/or animation experience a plus, but not required
• A collaborative mindset
• Must be able to commute to Moxie Sozo HQ in Boulder, Colorado, 2–3 days per week

This position currently reports to the Group Creative Director.

$90,000 - $120,000 per year
